REVIEWS
Fourth Floor Productions
Paved Paradise
Review By: Jon Dudzinski
When I picked this video up, I saw it only had five riders in it. The five riders weren't any super amazing people (i.e., nobody like Chase, Kevin, etc.), so I wasn't sure what to expect from it. After watching it, however, I had to clean out my pants.
Cory Stratychuk has a huge section in this video and has no problem filling it up with a lot of differnt tricks such as a long, slow whiplash link and a few other eye-catchers like a big hang-5 on the pedal barflipped into a half-packer. Simon O'Brien ripped it up with a variety of front and back wheel tricks. Jeff DesRoche was hitting his usual big stuff like a hang-5 to tomahawk framestand, nuts. Steve Fong was riding sketchy as ever with some great and short rolling links that he nails to the pedals. Youngblood Travis Collier was hitting some really great stuff like 360 barflip pedal squeakers with ease.
The video quality in Paved Paradise is amazing. Very clear shots and super good angles. Something that the producer, NEV, paid a lot of attention to was how you would never see the camera man's shadow. The backgrounds of which the riding is shot on was also a high concern. It all came out great.
To the soundtrack. I personaly loved the music in PP. It's all hip hop and goes perfectly with all of the riding. Paved Paradise probably has the most liked soundtrack out of all flatland videos today.
